1) Who We Are

CHASE Tax Rescue Solutions (“CHASE”, “we”) acts as a responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) for personal information processed via this Site for referral purposes.

2) What We Collect (Categories of Personal Information)

  • Identity & contact: names, ID/company reg, email, phone, physical address.

  • Business/tax context: company details, tax numbers, description of issues (e.g., SARS debt, VAT refunds), relevant documents you upload/submit.

  • Technical: device/browser data, IP address, log data, and cookies.

  • Communications: enquiries, notes, call/meeting records (if applicable).
    We do not intentionally collect children’s data.

3) Why We Process (Purposes)

  • Assess your enquiry and determine appropriate referral options.

  • Introduce you to an independent Consultant and facilitate warm hand-offs.

  • Respond to requests; manage our relationship; maintain records.

  • Perform security, fraud prevention, and system diagnostics.

  • Comply with legal obligations (e.g., accounting, tax, FICA retention if applicable).

  • Direct marketing (only with consent per POPIA s69; you may opt out at any time).

4) Lawful Basis (POPIA Conditions)

We process personal information under POPIA’s conditions including consent, performance of steps prior to a contract, legal obligation, and legitimate interests (e.g., operating a referral platform, preventing fraud, defending legal claims).

5) Sharing & Recipients

We share data, on a need-to-know basis, with:

  • Consultants: to evaluate your case and render services directly to you.

  • IT/Cloud vendors: secure hosting, email/CRM, analytics, security tools (as operators under written agreements).

  • Professional advisors / legal: for our own compliance and defence.

  • Authorities: where legally required.
    We do not sell personal data.

6) Cross-Border Transfers (POPIA s72)

Where operators or systems are located outside South Africa, we implement adequate safeguards (e.g., contracts ensuring data protection standards comparable to POPIA). By submitting information, you consent to such transfers as necessary for the purposes described.

7) Security Safeguards

We maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures (role-based access, encryption in transit/at rest where feasible, MFA on admin accounts, logging/monitoring, backups, least-privilege, staff confidentiality commitments). No system is 100% secure; transmission is at your own risk.

8) Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary for referral, record-keeping, and legal purposes (including statutory retention—e.g., up to 5 years for certain FICA- or tax-related records, where relevant). Thereafter, data is securely deleted or de-identified.

9) Your Rights (Data Subject Participation)

Subject to statutory limits, you may:

  • Access your personal information;

  • Correct inaccuracies;

  • Delete where no longer necessary or where consent is withdrawn;

  • Object to certain processing;

  • Opt-out of direct marketing;

  • Withdraw consent (without affecting prior lawful processing).

10) Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies to: (a) enable core functionality; (b) measure performance and improve the Site; (c) remember preferences; and (d) support security.
